Set Houses with One Pillar / Buero Wagner
Briefly

The two residential buildings on Lake Starnberg, just outside Munich, were developed as part of urban densification efforts in a neighborhood established in the 1950s. Original structures were often of low quality, leading to the decision to demolish an existing house and construct two new ones on a sizable 1000 m2 plot. This approach aimed to maximize space without further sealing undeveloped areas. Strategic architectural design includes a front garden and communal spaces, fostering connections with the neighborhood while ensuring efficient land use.
The new buildings on Lake Starnberg utilize urban densification principles, replacing an existing low-quality structure with two new homes that enhance neighborhood interaction.
Vision Starnberg 2025 aimed to restructure the residential area, promoting denser use of existing plots while thoughtfully integrating new constructions within the established environment.
