A Brand New Botnet Is Delivering Record-Size DDoS Attacks
Briefly

The Eleven11bot, a newly discovered botnet of approximately 30,000 webcams and video recorders, is potentially the largest ever to launch denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks. It has been responsible for hyper-volumetric attacks that deliver massive amounts of data to targets, with the highest recorded peak at 6.5 terabits per second. Researchers from Nokia's Deepfield team highlighted that the botnet is targeting various sectors including communications and gaming, using novel attack vectors. The sudden emergence and massive scale have raised significant security concerns.
"The Eleven11bot was already exceptionally large at 30,000 devices, although some botnets exceed well over 100,000 devices."
