Baltimore has made a pair of rotation additions this offseason. They sent four prospects and a draft pick to the Rays for , whom they control for three years. Baltimore also brought back on a one-year, $10MM deal after an injury-riddled season. They're in decent shape from a depth perspective. It still feels a little light at the top end. They're banking on Kyle Bradish in his first full season back from Tommy John surgery.

On Saturday, April 25, the first 20,000 fans who enter Oriole Park at Camden Yards for their game against the Boston Red Sox will receive an Orioles-branded hockey jersey. This year's cream-colored sweater is inspired by the Capitals' home and away jerseys, featuring a Baltimore Orioles wordmark logo influenced by the Caps' original mark. BALTIMORE is written in a slanted orange font over top orioles in black, with the L orange and shaped like a hockey stick.

A seventh-rounder by the Rangers back in 2016, the as-of-yesterday 28-year-old Huff has played in parts of five major league seasons. He once rated as one of the top catching prospects in the sport and carries a decent .247/.301/.430 batting line in the majors. That production comes in a sample of only 272 plate appearances and spite of a 36% strikeout rate, however. Huff's rate stats have been buoyed by a .350 average on balls in play.

Last season's numbers were, however, a step back from the 154 wRC+ and 7.9 fWAR Henderson delivered in 2024. Henderson missed most of Spring Training and the first week of regular-season action recovering from an intercostal strain, but the shortstop revealed Thursday that he also spent about " three-quarters of the year " dealing with a heretofore unknown shoulder impingement.

With Christmas in the rear view mirror and start of a new week here, it could make sense for some more free agents to find new homes in the coming days. While still in the midst of the holiday season, recent years have shown activity can still be fast and furious. Perhaps the Braves can end 2025 and enter 2026 with their off-season basically complete if they can find a move for a starting pitcher they like this week.

The Toronto Blue Jays addressed their pitching by signing Dylan Cease, Cody Ponce and also had Shane Bieber take the option on his contract to play with Toronto in 2026. Both the Boston Red Sox and the Baltimore Orioles have also made moves with the former grabbing Sonny Gray in a trade with the St. Louis Cardinals, and the latter picking up reliever Ryan Helsley off the free agent market while also getting Taylor Ward in a trade with the LA Angels.

We're still in the nascent stages of the MLB offseason, with only a handful of notable free-agent signings and trades thus far. Still, with the GM Meetings now in the rearview mirror, teams have laid a fair bit of groundwork for the weeks and months ahead, both on the free agent and trade markets. Kyle Tucker stands as the offseason's top free agent, and while there's no indication he's close to signing, there are also some hints falling into place about his potential market.

Paredes, who turned 30 in September, is no stranger to Orioles president of baseball operations Mike Elias. He originally signed with the Astros as an amateur back in 2016, when Elias was the scouting director in Houston. Elias had already jumped to Baltimore by the time Paredes had emerged as one of Houston's more notable pitching prospects and then made his subsequent MLB debut, however.

That's obviously a tiny sample of work but his minor league track record also isn't great. From 2021 to 2023, he hit .233/.350/.419 on the farm. That offense translates to a 104 wRC+, indicating he was above average but barely. He struck out in 29% of his plate appearances in that time. In 2024, he had a monster .299/.372/.514 showing in Triple-A.

Fans may recall that the Toronto Blue Jays signed Walker in mid-December last winter, adding another name to the bullpen mix heading into the new season. He didn't crack the big league roster out of Spring Training and was optioned to Triple-A Buffalo. Walker would be recalled on April 21st, making three appearances. The New York product would allow eight hits, four earned runs, and two walks across five innings of work, striking out eight hitters.

The Orioles will not retain bench coach Robinson Chirinos for the 2026 season, reports Andy Kostka of The Baltimore Banner. Kostka writes that Chirinos technically remains under contract but is pursuing opportunities elsewhere. That's common practice when teams make managerial changes. Chirinos was hired just last offseason to replace Fredi González as Brandon Hyde's top lieutenant. That lasted all of six weeks into the regular season. Baltimore fired Hyde after starting the season with a 15-28 record.

The O's just finished up a disappointing 2025 season. After making the playoffs in the prior two campaigns, they fell to the basement of the American League East this year, finishing 75-87. Their lack of rotation depth was a big part of that but the lineup also wasn't great. The team hit a collective .235/.305/.394. The resultant 96 wRC+ was better than just nine clubs in the majors.

The Braves visited the Detroit Tigers for their final road series of the year, with Atlanta's season moribund and Detroit desperately trying to hang on to a playoff spot. The first game of the series was a Friday night game and Atlanta absolutely rocked Detroit's starting pitcher - whom they acquired in a Trade Deadline deal. That set off a chain of events that led to one of the emotional high points of Atlanta's 2025 campaign,

If the Yankees take the AL East, they will open the playoffs in the Division Series on Oct. 4 against an opponent to be determined. If the Yankees don't win the AL East, they will open the playoffs in the wild-card round on Tuesday against Boston, Cleveland, Detroit or Houston - whichever one ends up as the second AL wild card.

Miller went to the Charm City to be a part of the 30th anniversary celebration of Cal Ripken Jr.'s record-breaking "Iron Man" streak, as Ripken passed Lou Gehrig with his 2,131st consecutive game on Sept. 6, 1995. Miller was the Orioles' primary radio broadcaster from 1983 to 1996, which covered the vast majority of Ripken's streak, and was on the radio call for the record-breaking night.

Ceddanne Rafaela hit a two-run homer in the ninth inning to lift the Boston Red Sox to a 3-2 victory over the Baltimore Orioles on Wednesday night. After Keegan Akin (4-4) worked out of a jam in the eighth to preserve a one-run lead, the left-hander couldn't contain Boston in the ninth. Jarren Duran led off with a single and Rafaela followed with a towering fly that cleared the wall in left-center.
