The Function is San Francisco's first Black-owned comedy club, located on Market Street near Hayes Valley. The space blends a stylish cocktail lounge with an intimate comedy room, creating a close, electric atmosphere where every show feels personal. On any given night, you might see comedians stopping in after shows elsewhere, testing new material, or dropping in unexpectedly.

Ray DeJon passed away at age 63, just before his 64th birthday and a planned comedy roast event, with the cause of death currently unknown.
