Joey Votto was known for many things, including frequently destroying the Cubs at Wrigley Field. But when I think about him as a hitter, there's one collective thought that comes to mind: the guy was just so good at working an at bat toward either a walk or a line drive.
The Chicago Cubs have now won five games in a row, all supported by the third best run differential (+30) in Major League Baseball. They remain in fourth place of the NL Central, because pretty much every other team is playing hot right now, too.
The logjam actually serves as a positive in the long-run. Every guy in the equation is motivated to keep the intensity higher throughout the season, pushing each other to perform at their best.
