A hunting rifle was seized at the couple's home and the forensic pathologist at the scene noted 'the presence of two gunshot wounds to the upper body of the victim'. A post-mortem examination of the body has been ordered.
British doctor Ruaridh Tanner, from Harrow, London, has gone missing in southern Spain, with his brother Rufus appealing to expats and holidaymakers on the Costa del Sol to help find him after he was last seen in Nerja on 25 October. Rufus said his brother may be living in a silver VW Polo and described him as 1.85m tall with a caduceus tattoo on his left arm, urging anyone with information to help confirm he is safe.
