I'm pretty sure I found it later, around age 12 or 13, either on VHS or during one of those edited-for-TV weekend reruns. What grabbed me wasn't just the action-though the car chases alone (a world record for smashed police cars at the time) were enough to hook any pre-teenage boy. What really blew my mind was the energy that was driven by the soundtrack.

"Trailblazer" wastes no time revealing how Junior and Babbitt killed Anna Dixon in her bathroom. The pair fumble over each other trying to bust her bathroom door open to question her, knocking her over in the process and inadvertently breaking her skull against the lip of the tub. It's a senseless act of violence that takes the most blameless life of anyone who has ever earned a dime off the Black Rabbit.

Robert Redford sits behind the camera (and lends some voice-over narration) for this 1992 film version of Norman Maclean's 1976 novella. A River Runs Through It tells the story of two brothers, played by Brad Pitt and Craig Sheffer, who are raised by their reverend father with a penchant for fly fishing in rural Montana.
