I kind of daydreamed what it would be like to have a modern Dan Dare. That resulted in me emailing the Dan Dare Corporation asking if I could pitch a new Dan Dare graphic novel series. They said yes.

The classic cartoon franchise is getting a high-budget live-action remake, and it plays exactly by the Marvel rulebook. The trailer is focused on the central story of Adam Glenn, the lost prince of Eternia, forced to live in hiding on Earth.

After a decade floundering both critically and at the box office, DC Studios has regained their footing under James Gunn. With the moderate success of last year's Superman and the groundwork laid by a relatively well-received second season of Peacemaker, it seems as if the days of DC's cinematic outings getting pummeled by the MCU are over, as well as their days of approaching the plate without a plan in hand.

Aaron Pierre, the star of the upcoming series Lanterns, will reprise his role of John Stewart in Man of Tomorrow. Pierre plays John Stewart, a member of the Green Lantern Corps, in Lanterns, so his involvement in Man of Tomorrow is somewhat obvious, as we've known from the get-go that Man of Tomorrow will pit Superman and Lex Luthor against Brainiac, an alien villain.

The series began with so much potential, positioned as a leaner, meaner, darker counterpart to The Mandalorian's adventures of the week. That it was also poised to dive deep into the psyche of a character that so many adored (but didn't really know much about) was just an added bonus. But Boba Fett was neither the underworld crime drama nor the intimate character study that anyone hoped it'd be.

How the most massive objects in the universe first formed is one of the biggest headscratchers in astrophysics. With more advanced telescopes, astronomers have found fully formed galaxies and colossal black holes earlier and earlier in the cosmos, just a few hundred million years after the Big Bang. This shouldn't be enough time for these structures to reach their incredible size; to astronomers, it's like stumbling on a fully-grown oak tree that's only a year old.

Back in December, when SFWA announced that it was updating its rules for the Nebula Awards. Works written entirely by large language models would not be eligible, while authors who used LLMs "at any point during the writing process" had to disclose that use, allowing award voters to make their own decisions about whether that usage would affect their support.

In 2017, New Zealand artist Rachel Smythe started publishing the webcomic Lore Olympus on her Tumblr page. It was a lush, watercolor reimagining of the story of Hades and Persephone in a world where Hades is a sensitive but guarded romantic hero dressed in business suits, and Persephone is a bright-pink young woman whose hair reveals her emotions. The bright colors of Lore Olympus will be reflected in an animated series.

The 2026 box office is up and running with Sam Raimi and someone from YouTube topping the weekend charts. But the people are still heading out to see the likes of Marty Mauser, Judy Hopps, and the late-2025 contingent of films. Both and Avatar: Fire and Ash continue to add on to their exorbitant box-office totals, making me wonder if we should add one more bonus threshold next year for $400 million. Will ponder!

He did as much 13 years ago in Iron Man 3, the second he dropped his guise as the Mandarin to reveal that he was actually Trevor Slattery. The efficacy - not to mention the morality - of this twist has been the topic of heated debate ever since, but no one can deny that Kingsley isn't utterly sympathetic in the role.
