I don't know if it got away from us. If you look at scoring chances, we out-chanced them in that period, but in the defensive zone, they had the one goal where we just didn't seal up. We got stick lifted, first of all, and then they made a play up the wall to Ovi. We have to have that backdoor sealed up.
I think it can play a part, absolutely. I think its a mix of different factors. I wouldn't say it's the main reason. I think there's other things as well. Hopefully we can turn this around. We have to learn from our mistakes because this is not good enough. Nine points in such a tough Champions League stage, we should be happy but we have to continue because we want more than this. We have to show that.
The first is Pervis Estupinan, who could and should have cleared the ball on the first goal. Instead, he decided to go into a duel that he lost in a very comical way. It proved very costly for his side as Parma scored the first goal and got great momentum from it. The Ecuadorian was recently injured, so some could point to that as an excuse, but we would argue that a brain fart like that has nothing with his fitness. Instead, it's more to do with poor judgement and the rest of the game was also a disastrous one for the left-back.
They look more compact as a team now, when they are attacking or defending. They get in quite a good shape and the distances between their lines are much smaller, which makes them harder to play through. Unfortunately for Amorim, the improvements they have made there have been overlooked because of the silly mistakes they are making in conceding goals which are costing them points.
