Daniele Castellano's vivid drawings are many things: spooky, hyper detailed, fantastical and never boring. With imagery based on the mysteries of memory, psychology and bodily sensations, Daniele frequently engages with mythology.
"There's no case where those things aren't critical, but with a project like this, there is no 'fix it in post' because it just can't work like that. This is a show that has about 3,000 VFX shots, and we were working with up to five different VFX vendors at times."
I realized that we don't really think about it this way, but Sodom was a book about war profiteers, that the four men who perpetrated the atrocious, sexual, violent acts of kidnapping people-girls and boys-to bring them to their chateau to do whatever they want with them, they could do that because they were war profiteers within the war of Louis XIV.
