An overnight fire in East Flatbush resulted in the deaths of two individuals, an 80-year-old woman and a 59-year-old man, who were both taken to the hospital and pronounced dead.
The complaints relate to concerns about the standard of the investigation, including its management and direction, the conduct of the investigation team, and their engagement with the victims.

The motorcycle driver, identified as 32-year-old Andy Peralta, made a left turn onto West Mosholu Parkway South after traveling northbound on Jerome Avenue, driving against traffic before colliding with the bus.
The collision happened around 10:30 a.m. at the intersection of South El Camino Real and 17th Avenue, according to the San Mateo Police Department. Officers arrived to find the pedestrian, described only as a woman, suffering from critical injuries. Police said the woman was taken to an area hospital, where she later died from her injuries. A vehicle operated by the FDNY was traveling on Avenue S when it was struck by a van heading north on West 11th Street in the Gravesend section of the borough. As a result, the FDNY truck then collided with an Access-A-Ride van, which ended up hitting a Lexus SUV, according to the NYPD.
FREMONT - A 19-year-old San Jose man has died from injuries he suffered in a crash last week in Fremont, police said. A BMW M4 coupe and a tractor-trailer collided around 1:50 a.m. on Jan. 27 at the intersection of Auto Mall and Cushing parkways, according to the Fremont Police Department. The driver of the BMW and their passenger were taken to an area hospital.
A woman was struck and killed by a hit-and-run school bus full of students while she was crossing a Brooklyn street Thursday afternoon, according to cops and sources. The female pedestrian was attempting to cross the street at the intersection of 23rd Avenue and Bath Avenue in Gravesend just after 3 p.m. when the school bus driver failed to navigate the roadway properly and careened into her, the NYPD said.
