The killing of 37-year-old mother of three Renee Good by ICE agent Jonathan Ross in Minneapolis last Wednesday has shocked the world and become a political nightmare for the Trump administration. The proper response to this horrific killing would be an independent and transparent investigation. Instead, the Trump administration has chosen the path of stonewalling, cover-up, and demonizing the victim-including by making sexist and homophobic attacks against Good.

"Critical Incident: Death at the Border" recounts the death of Anastasio Hernández Rojas, a 42-year-old undocumented immigrant who died in 2010 days after immigration agents handcuffed, beat and Tasered him near the San Ysidro Port of Entry after trying to deport him to Mexico. Border Patrol at the time said they used force after Hernández Rojas, who had lived in this country since he was 15, resisted them.

At the first opportunity, Sarah runs from him, but he tackles and points a gun at her before deciding to let her make her choice. She can either get back in the van or let herself be caught by "them," the people who intend to kill her. So, she gets back in the van. While she's at it, she might as well get an answer from Downey: Who is "they"?

When she tries to deliver a get-well card from the child's classmates, she learns that the girl, Dinah, has been mysteriously spirited away and that official records of her fate are sealed. The more resistance Sarah encounters in her quest for Dinah, the harder she searches, hiring a sad-sack private investigator, Joe (Adam Godley), to help her. This leads to further murders and mysteries, sending Sarah, along with Joe's wife, Zoë (Thompson), on the road to save the little girl.
