Angel Paws Pet Cremation appeared to be a nondescript San Marcos business, where grieving clients brought in their dearly departed pets - until they stopped getting their calls returned, and the building began to smell. Angel Paws owner Christopher Settle was arrested Tuesday for alleged grand theft, in a scheme prosecutors say involved taking in pets for cremations, collecting the payment, and leaving them in freezers to rot as he distributed false ashes.

PETTY THEFT: 10:18 a.m. on Union Avenue. Someone stole a black and gray Trek FX1 bicycle. The total loss is around $800. PETTY THEFT: 2:46 p.m. at 7-11 on North Santa Cruz Avenue. A woman said her boyfriend's Uber took off with his belongings. The loss was about $500 and consisted of a bag, keys, Airpods, charger and clothes. She said she tried to contact Uber, but no one had responded to her.

Theft by access card: At 2:25 p.m. at the Wells Fargo bank on Big Basin Avenue, someone used a ruse to swap debit cards with another person. The suspect then used the other person's debit card to make an unauthorized withdrawal of approximately $8,433. Grand theft: At 7:15 p.m. in a parking lot in the 20000 block of Fourth Street, someone fled with a box of Pokemon cards valued at $1,600 without paying after meeting the seller to see the cards.

It is shocking that these county employees that are receiving their county check every two weeks are telling EDD that we are unemployed and are receiving no money.
