Steam Deck prices rose sharply due to higher memory and storage component costs and global logistics challenges.
In light of the strong sales performance in the first year following launch and price adjustments, we expect unit sales for the fiscal year ending March 2027 to decline year-over-year. That said, we view this as a healthy level of sales for Nintendo Switch 2 in its second year after launch, and we continue to anticipate further growth in its installed base.
The networking giant discussed the price hikes on its Q2 2026 earnings call, during which CEO Chuck Robbins said Cisco has already announced price increases and will "continue to monitor market trends and make additional adjustments as necessary." The CEO said Cisco is also "revising contractual terms with channel partners and customers to address evolving component prices," and is using its scale to "help us negotiate favorable terms and secure supply to fulfill current and future demand."
The next-gen Xbox is believed to be targeting a 2027 launch, with AMD CEO Lisa Su recently suggesting that the console is on track to release next year. Microsoft, however, hasn't "fully internally committed" to that launch window, according to a new report. The Xbox parent is reportedly considering 2027 as the "best case scenario" for the launch of its next-generation console. Additionally, the company is said to be working with other OEMs to bring more Xbox hardware options to consumers.
