In the Middle East, before the extreme Muslim takeover of it, people were in bikinis in Iran and Egypt. It wasn't like it is today."

Muslim women have spoken about how wearing the hijab is empowering in the face of a new poll that has revealed almost half of Britons believe that women are pressured into putting it on.

A significant portion of the British public holds negative views towards Islam, with 41% believing Muslim immigrants negatively impact the UK and nearly half thinking Muslim women are coerced into wearing the hijab.

"The airline employee took my passport, looked at my passport, looked at me, and said that my passport doesn't match my face, so I have to remove my [hijab]."
