Hunter Harvey has been placed on the injured list, and Charlie Barnes has been called up to the Cubs from Triple-A Iowa.
Hunter Harvey was one of the Cubs' riskiest, but highest upside additions to the bullpen this offseason. If you recall, despite throwing just 10.2 innings after August 4, 2024, Harvey got $6M from the Cubs this winter. And that's because when he's healthy, he's a big, hard-throwing, frequently successful 31-year-old reliever.
Entering the offseason, the Toronto Blue Jays had originally set out to make significant improvements to their bullpen heading into 2026.
