Taylor rushed for 244 yards and three touchdowns -- including the overtime game winner -- in Sunday's 31-25 victory over the Falcons. He caught three passes for an additional 42 yards, so that's 286 total yards from scrimmage, including a breathtaking 83-yard TD run that came with his team down a point with just over six minutes left in the fourth quarter.
In his highlight game -- thus far -- of a massive season, Taylor scored 49.6 fantasy points, most by any player this season and tied for 36th on the all-time, single-game list among running backs. Yes, it came in an overtime game, and yes, he had a massive amount of volume (32 carries and 35 total touches), but Taylor's 83-yard rushing score in the fourth quarter rallied his Colts from behind
LOS ANGELES -- The Los Angeles Chargers activated linebackers Khalil Mack and Denzel Perryman off of injured reserve, the team announced Saturday. The move clears the way for both to return to the field against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday. Mack injured his elbow in the Chargers' Week 2 win over the Raiders. He attempted a tackle in the first quarter, but his left hand got caught between Chargers linebacker Troy Dye and Raiders wide receiver Tre Tucker, turning his elbow to an awkward position.
Williams, who signed a $23-million extension before the season, and second-year pro Blake Corum are providing the Rams with the backfield balance coach Sean McVay envisioned as the Rams built a team regarded as a Super Bowl contender. Last season, the 5-foot-9, 207-pound Williams carried the ball 316 times. Only Barkley (345 carries) and Derrick Henry (325) of the Baltimore Ravens had more. The Rams averaged 103.8 yards rushing per game, which ranked 24th among 32 teams.
