In case you didn't get the memo, everyone is feeling very Chinese these days. Across social media, people are proclaiming that "You met me at a very Chinese time of my life," while performing stereotypically Chinese-coded activities like eating dim sum or wearing the viral Adidas Chinese jacket. The trend blew up so much in recent weeks that celebrities like comedian Jimmy O Yang and influencer Hasan Piker even got in on it. It has now evolved into variations like " Chinamaxxing" (acting increasingly more Chinese) and " u will turn Chinese tomorrow " (a kind of affirmation or blessing).

CFGNY is having a big spring. The self-proclaimed 'vaguely Asian' art and fashion collective is in a group exhibition about the production and representation of Asian fashion at Pioneer Works, transforming the third floor into a cardboard-lined shipping container filled with studio portraits shot in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, a growing fashion hub.

There's a lot of stuff these days I don't understand about punk myself. After five hours of printing T-shirts, Henry Reyes' arms got tired. All day, a steady stream of locals filed into Fleetwood Fine Goods, the small shop in the Inner Richmond where Reyes works. They came with T-shirts, crop tops and bandanas in their hands. One by one, Reyes laid the garments out on the store's screen printing press, squeezed paint onto a screen and, applying force with his arms, dragged a rubber squeegee across it. When he was done, the words "F-K ICE" were printed in bold capital letters.

My driving belief is that we need to be able to communicate, to touch humanity, to try to connect to each other in some way, but I'm also not trying to forgive or underplay the extremities. There was fighting either between different factions or just for fun. Initially, what I saw was deeply shocking. When you're in those environments, it's so venomous and hateful.

For years, Thee Parkside has served a cross section of San Francisco's subcultures, hosting punk shows, motorcycle meetups and karaoke nights. It's one of a handful of the city's small, independent venues, and cherished by the local music scene. On a typical night, a mix of young and older patrons gather in the bar's patio area, downing beers and chatting over bar food.

There isn't one songwriter, and so the flavour of the band is always going to change, says Dave Vanian, reflecting on 50 years of the group of which he has been the sole constant member, the Damned. Captain Sensible is a great fan of syrupy pop music and prog and glam rock. So his writing is very poppy, melodic and quite wonderful.

Host Doggie Diamonds opened the segment sounding shaken, telling viewers: "In my whole 19-year career, I'm baffled." He added, "I don't even know what to say."
