While my colleagues have long sung the praises of sauciers, I have to admit I was completely oblivious to them. In case you are, too: sauciers are like saucepans, but with a rounded base that makes them perfect for anything that requires a lot of stirring and whisking. I'd been seeing them pop up in chef videos on Instagram for a while, so I was excited to try Made In's version, one of our favorite cookware brands.
The number of companies creating DTC kitchen equipment has exploded in the last 10 years, and after trying dozens and dozens of items from a whole range of them, I can confidently say that their performance is all over the place. But one of the most consistently good of all the brand's we've tried has been Made In. The Austin-based company has gone beyond the normal "brand name quality, wholesale prices" pitch used by many Instagram-friendly brands and actually become a reliable presence in restaurant kitchens around the country.
