Oxford Street will be traffic-free on 21 September for a one-day pedestrian-focused event showcasing temporary closures and plans for permanent pedestrianisation by 2027.

E5 is actually home to one of London's oldest and most historic markets. We're talking about Chatsworth Road Market. Beginning in the 1930s, the east London bazaar used to be home to around 200 stalls and open up to five days a week. Now it's a Sunday market that specialises in street food and is home to independent sellers flogging everything from second hand books, to handmade jewellery.

2 months agoNew Plans Are Calling for Part of Regent Street to Be Pedestrianised
The proposals include making Regent Street St James's traffic-free and enlarging the pedestrian space at Piccadilly Circus. The introduction of safer cycling routes on the main section of Regent Street and two-way traffic on Haymarket, plus the improvement of pedestrian crossings on Regent Street and the removal of the road's central island have also been presented.
