One platform still dominates as Americans' social media habits shift

The survey of more than 5,000 U.S. adults found that 84% use YouTube, making it the most widely used platform. Facebook remains popular at 71%, while Instagram has climbed to 50%, the only other site used by at least half of Americans. TikTok use has grown to 37%, and WhatsApp is close behind at 32%. Smaller shares report using Reddit (26%), Snapchat (25%) and X, formerly Twitter (21%).
