Leicester City hit with major points deduction after 200m loss and financial rule breach: report

According to The Telegraph, Leicester were found to have made losses of 200 million in the three-year accounting period up to June 30, 2024. Clubs in England's top two divisions are permitted to lose a maximum of 105 million over a three-season period. This figure is lower for teams competing in the Championship for a partial or full duration of the relevant accounting period. In Leicester's case, the club's loss limit for period 2021-2024 was 81m.

PSR era in Premier League to continue after clubs oppose new spending rules

League executives have spent the past 18 months attempting to introduce two new ways of controlling spending in the competition with clubs reluctant to sign up, despite a number of sides falling foul of the current PSR system. There was more discussion over possible rule changes at a meeting in central London on Tuesday, but there is, as of yet, no time frame for putting them to a vote and the chances that anything will be adopted before next season are receding.

Everton in for possible 50m budget boost as Jack Grealish permanent transfer possibility revealed
