Thousands of runners and supporters will descend on Cork city this Sunday, May 31 as the 2026 Analog Devices Cork City Marathon takes place. A total of 12,300 runners will take part across the full marathon, half marathon and 10k race. The event is expected to attract approximately 25,000 spectators, supported by 1,000 staff and volunteers. On race day, participants will consume an estimated 12,000 bananas and 100,000 bottles of water.

Now in its 44th edition, the 26.2-mile race attracts elite athletes, club runners, first-time marathoners, wheelchair participants, and charity fundraisers, making it one of the country's most iconic mass participation events. When John Pitzel started the 2025 Tokyo Marathon, he knew that it was going to be hot.
