The Gorge Waterfalls weekend featured significant prize money and competitive races, with standout performances in the 100k and 50k events.
"Stretches of the float feel quite secluded and peaceful, while others pass parks and restaurants. I like the connection-it's always good to be reminded of the wild in the urban."
"Our heritage is rooted in building gear for people who live and thrive in the mountains, and that includes our own team. Many of us ride; our athletes ride. Mountain biking is part of our culture," Ashley Anson, VP Design at Arc'teryx, said.
Snake River Brewing has quietly earned its place as one of the town's original après-ski gathering spots, a place where cold fingers warmed up around pint glasses and powder days were replayed one story at a time.
Mt. Baker is the PNW's snow vacuum. It's close enough to the Pacific to get storm after storm, and the North Cascades do what they do best: force moist air straight up, wring it out, and bury everything in sight. Maritime storms roll in wet and heavy, then pile up fast when they hit terrain.
Following a three-day resort closure due to treacherous snow and road conditions, operations resumed, and what waited on the other side was nothing short of historic. A sincere thank you to the teams who kept everyone safe during the storm cycle.
The Bridgeport Winter Trail System is a new winter recreation area in the region. Anyone hoping to explore scenic new routes and possibly take a dip underneath a natural thermal waterfall should add this groomed winter trail to their list.
The province of Alberta is home to several iconic international ski destinations, including Lake Louise, Banff Sunshine Village, and Marmot Basin. But one resort seems to fly under the radar: Castle Mountain, which sits at the southern end of the Canadian Rockies. It often gets overlooked when booking a ski vacation, as this old-school mountain is not the easiest resort to get to-but it is definitely worth the trip.
Conditions ReportContinuing on my journey through Visit Idaho's Gem Line, I headed from Sandpoint, Idaho, to Kellogg, Idaho, for another powder day at Silver Mountain. I had skied at Silver last season and had a great time lapping pristine corduroy during a stint of high pressure. I was excited to return with plenty of recent fresh snow to explore some of the steeper, off-piste terrain at Silver.
When winter takes hold in the Eastern Sierra, the Bridgeport Winter Recreation Area (BWRA) becomes a popular destination for backcountry enthusiasts. Powderhounds flock to this area during the cold winter months, usually with snowmobiles. Shortly after you turn onto Highway 108 (Sonora Pass), the snow starts, and the journey begins. Located seven miles up the snow-covered highway, the BWRA is the gateway to remote and technical terrain in the heart of the Sierra.
A Mahle controller sits on the toptube. Ridley designed the E-Grifn to be identical to the rest of their Grifn lineup. The geometry matches, and the visual differences between the bikes are pretty minimal. However, there are definitely some slight differences, such as a larger downtube to house the battery. Certain mounting points have also been removed in favor of internal electronics.
A massive crash on the last jump on the Red Bull Hardline Tasmania track has left Mille Johnset of Nukeproof Axess Racing with a broken collarbone and concussion. The 3rd person view of the crash is shown in this clip posted by Ed Masters. In the clip, you can see a touch of headwind catching the windsock, which likely contributed to Johnset coming up a bit short.
Its time. After 8 years riding for Pivot Factory Racing the time has come for me to move on. What a ride it's been! Holy shit, I'll never be able to put into words how grateful I am for the opportunities that Pivot and BK have given me. But, It's time for me to hang up the boots after chasing World Cup racing full-time for the last 13 years . My heroes became friends and my friends became heroes. I'm proud of what we achieved, and to everyone who has been a part of the journey, thank you so much. Love you all and see you on the trails.
Kona is one of the brands that seems to recognize this more than most and has maintained a healthy selection of affordable hardtails in its lineup for years. After all, the brand started out and built its early reputation on hardtails. And despite some uncertainty surrounding its future, the rider-owned brand isn't forgetting its roots. For 2026, Kona has refreshed three of its most accessible entry-level hardtail models with updated geometry and size-specific wheel sizing to improve handling, fit, and stability for riders just starting out on their mountain bike journey.
