As a House Tours editor, you can basically find me at any time looking through photos of gorgeous homes. I love seeing people's creativity and thoughtfulness in their spaces. Of course every now and then I'll see the same product in different homes, but there's one IKEA find that's been popping up over and over again in small homes; It's IKEA's JÄTTEBO sofa, and if you have a small home it should definitely be on your radar.
One of my favorite things about our apartment - and older apartments in general - is how much built-in storage they tend to come with. Even with the cupboards, closets, and built-ins, however, our kitchen needed more storage. No matter how many items I donated to Goodwill, there never seemed to be enough cabinet space for our cooking essentials and dishes (and don't even get me started on the food storage containers).
Hein describes the Lift Off as "extremely comfortable," noting that its size is "fantastically practical," as it allows her to lounge, but still have room to walk around her one-bedroom NYC apartment. "Recline buttons are conveniently placed on each arm and function, much like a reclining seat found in a movie theater," Hein says in her review. Sit test: Is it comfortable? Does it feel well-made? Does the couch have a tendency to sag? So far, no sagging! It is beyond comfortable, even when I'm sitting on the arm of it for a quick minute. This is in the design of the sofa, but some of the seams point outward as opposed to being sewn folded in, and a few of those have loose-ish (but not structurally problematic whatsoever) threads that I'm not the biggest fan of, visually speaking.
