Farringtons School staff ended their six-day strike after successful negotiations led to teachers keeping their pensions intact and pay scale increases.

Mick Whelan, the union's general secretary, stated, "It was not a fight we sought, or wanted. All we sought after five years without a pay rise...was a dent in the cost of living" to highlight the rationale behind the strikes.
