Speaking to reporters in Dublin, Mícheál Martin emphasized the need for clarity from the rap group Kneecap regarding their alleged support for Hezbollah and Hamas, asserting that any threat or violence against public representatives is unacceptable.

"The scrapping of the RPZs would remove the only modest protection afforded by renters and leave them at the mercy of greedy corporate landlords."

A further individual has been arrested in connection with the investigation into a bomb threat made on the home of the Taoiseach in May, which prompted a security alert.
