And you know, what I took from that was that I needed to try and decide what I thought would be best for the state, for the party, in a time and in a year where there is so much at stake This is not a normal time. Well, first of all, full disclosure, I am a longtime friend of John Cornyn, the Republican incumbent. We've known each other since he was a district court judge 30 some odd years ago in Bear County in his early 30s. So I've known him a long, long time. I think the president's going to sit and watch. He understands that it would be problematic if he were to endorse against a sitting Republican senator, particularly one is respected as John Corbyn.
