Within his first month in Congress, after having sworn that he was going to come here and vote ... he missed a week. My voting record is 97.9% over 20 years. He missed six votes in one day, and then missed additional votes as well. We had a classified briefing on the Iran war, he wasn't there. He needs to know that this is where we work.

Republican elected officials in Mississippi, New Hampshire, Tennessee and beyond have fought proposed facilities in their states. New Hampshire Gov. Kelly Ayotte (R) recently celebrated DHS striking its plans for an ICE facility that triggered public outcry in suburban Merrimack. She thanked DHS Secretary Kristi Noem for 'hearing the concerns' of residents.

Amid rising tensions in Minnesota over federal agents shooting and killing protesters, US President Donald Trump said senior White House official Tom Homan will visit the northeastern state. "I am sending Tom Homan to Minnesota tonight. He has not been involved in that area, but knows and likes many of the people there. Tom is tough but fair, and will report directly to me," the president wrote in an online post.
