Border Force seized Konkel's truck carrying 28 pallets of SKIMS clothing on the ferry from the Netherlands into the Port of Harwich in Essex. After Border Force x-rayed the truck, they discovered 90 packages of cocaine, almost 200 pounds (that's American pounds), reportedly valued at around 7 million pounds (that's British pounds) or US$9.4 million. Konkel denied knowledge of the drugs, but eventually fessed up to being paid 4,500 euros to mule.

Humberto Caicedo Ramirez, 53, and Carlos Barbosa Arias, 61, were caught when police raided a laboratory inside a flat in Vauxhall, south London, where they were processing cocaine concealed in bars of soap.

The gang imported over 1 million euros worth of cocaine from Colombia and concealed it within lacquered broomsticks shipped through legitimate channels.

The Home Office reported that the suspected gang made millions by facilitating the illegal entry of over 500 Gambian nationals into the UK using forged documents.
