DuckDuckGo has transitioned its AI-assisted answers, initially known as DuckAssist, out of beta and is sourcing information from across the web to provide users with more concise answers. The AI integration will allow users to choose how often they receive these responses, which currently appear about 20% of the time. CEO Gabriel Weinberg highlighted a cautious approach to increasing the frequency of these responses. Furthermore, DuckDuckGo's chatbot, Duck.ai, emphasizes privacy, allowing anonymous interactions with various AI models and local storage of past conversations.
DuckDuckGo's AI-assisted answers now integrate web search, offering a less intrusive alternative to competitors, while placing a strong emphasis on user privacy.
The company plans to gradually increase the visibility of these AI-generated responses, which are designed to be concise and user-friendly.
