Over the past few years, I've reviewed thousands of APIs across startups, enterprises and global platforms. Almost all shipped OpenAPI documents. On paper, they should be well-defined and interoperable. In practice, most fail when consumed predictably by AI systems. They were designed for human readers, not machines that need to reason, plan and safely execute actions. When APIs are ambiguous, inconsistent or structurally unreliable, AI systems struggle or fail outright.

At the Goldman Sachs U.S. Financial Services Conference on Tuesday, CFO Denis Coleman discussed the company's recently announced OneGS 3.0 initiative-a multiyear overhaul of its OneGS program aimed at integrating AI throughout the bank's operating model to reduce complexity and boost productivity. Alan Dye, who has led Apple's UI design team since 2015, is leaving to join Meta as its chief design officer, Bloomberg reports. He'll join Meta on December 31st, and Meta is opening a design studio and giving Dye oversight of design for "hardware, software and AI integration for its interfaces," according to Bloomberg. Dye will report to Meta CTO Andrew Bosworth.

According to Rajat Taneja, Visa's president of technology, the global payments company has woven AI into every part of its business. Employees across Visa are tapping AI in their everyday workflows for tasks ranging from data analysis to software development. The company has built more than 100 internal AI-powered business applications tailored to specific use cases and has over 2,500 engineers working specifically on AI. Visa is also using AI to create new products and services for its customers, such as faster onboarding, simplified processes for managing disputes, and infrastructure for agentic AI technologies.
