Just Salad is launching a mobile ordering feature called 'Salad AI' that utilizes OpenAI's GPT-4o model to generate personalized meal recommendations based on customer preferences. By allowing customers to input dietary restrictions, nutrient needs, and flavor preferences, the AI offers tailored meal ideas within 15 seconds. Founder Nick Kenner emphasized the tool's capability to navigate vast menu options and noted its inception stemmed from a desire for healthier eating choices. The feature will be available at Just Salad locations throughout the Northeast, Florida, and Chicago, with a web version coming later.

I said it would be great if AI could tell me what to get on the Just Salad menu," recalls Kenner. "And I brought that to our CTO [Matt Silverman] and he said, 'We can make that happen.'
In a demonstration, Fast Company opted for a vegan, high fiber, spicy salad bowl and the top recommendation was a 'spicy vegan fiesta'...
