The deaths of Hollywood legend Gene Hackman and his wife, classical pianist Betsy Arakawa, at ages 95 and 65 respectively, have left the Santa Fe community in mourning. Found under mysterious circumstances, with signs suggesting they had been dead for some time, the investigation is ongoing. Residents express their sorrow, as the couple were beloved members of the community. Sheriff Adan Mendoza confirms no foul play is evident, but many are left seeking answers about the tragic incident that has shaken their close-knit town.
Everybody is really sad we hold on to our community here... There's so much sadness in our world and this felt like another bright light dimmed.
The couple were found on Wednesday afternoon after a maintenance worker contacted neighborhood security, who spotted their bodies through a window and called the police.
They both appeared to have suddenly fallen to the floor in different areas of the house... Hackman was found near an entryway with a cane nearby.
There were no signs of foul play... We all want answers.
