The Marlins have selected the contract of infielder Jose Devers, who replaces the injured Vidal Brujan on the roster as he recovers from an AC joint sprain.
Jose Devers, 24, returns for a second stint with the Marlins after a disappointing debut in 2021 and a lackluster performance at the Triple-A level this season.
To make room for Devers on the 40-man roster, left-hander Jonathan Bermudez has been designated for assignment, following Devers being outrighted to the minors.
Devers has struggled offensively, posting a .239/.304/.362 line in 54 Triple-A games this year, reflecting his previous limited success in the majors.
