Baltimore designated Craig Kimbrel for assignment as the regular season nears its end, recalling Bryan Baker from Triple-A Norfolk to bolster their bullpen.
Kimbrel, who recorded a 5.33 ERA in 52 1/3 innings this season, was brought in to be a high-leverage reliever but proved too erratic.
