A canoe accident on Lake Hayward in East Haddam resulted in the drowning of a 20-year-old College of Holy Cross student, Dominick Tucci. The canoe capsized on Saturday night, leading to a multi-day search by Connecticut Environmental Conservation Police. Tucci's body was recovered on Monday afternoon. Another student was rescued by a Good Samaritan and taken to a local hospital. The incident is under investigation, and the cause of death will be determined by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
