Four hospitalized after rollover crash on Interstate 93

A serious crash occurred on Interstate 93 at the border of Woburn and Stoneham shortly before 10 a.m. Four vehicles were involved, including a box truck that rolled over. Emergency responders arrived to find heavy damage and two people trapped inside their vehicles. All four drivers suffered serious injuries and were transported to local hospitals. The right three northbound lanes were closed temporarily, but reopened by early afternoon. The Massachusetts State Police are currently investigating the incident.
Emergency crews responded to I-93 northbound near the Interstate 95 interchange at about 9:45 a.m., according to the Woburn Fire Department.
All four drivers were rushed to local hospitals with serious injuries, according to State Police.
Photos from the Woburn Fire Department appear to show the truck on its side, its cargo of produce spilling into the road.
The crash temporarily closed the right three lanes of northbound traffic near Exit 28A.
