On Holocaust Day of Remembrance, twelve Brooklyn Holocaust survivors were honored by The Jewish Community Council of Greater Coney Island with a billboard in Times Square. The project aims to spotlight the survivors' stories and ensure that the atrocities of the Holocaust are acknowledged and remembered. Judith Frydman, a survivor, emphasized the importance of sharing their experiences, stating, "I'm still here," and underscored that awareness is crucial to preventing such horrors from being forgotten. The billboard will be displayed until March 15.
I'm a Holocaust survivor, and I'm still here, said Judith Frydman, from Gravesend.
Whatever can be done to advertise that yes, it happened, it was horrible, no words to describe it, said Frydman.
