FDNY: Fire in Ocean Hill injures 9, displaces 31
Briefly

The FDNY reported that a fire in Ocean Hill started late Monday night, injuring nine, including six firefighters, and displacing 31 individuals.
Neighbors reported waking from the smoke, which was so intense they thought their own homes were on fire. "I woke up I smelled the smoke through my closed window," said one resident.
The fire, burning through the cocklofts, led to the roof collapsing in the building where it started. Extensive damage affected four adjacent buildings.
An investigation is ongoing into the fire's cause. A prior complaint regarding the affected property cited faulty electrical work, but inspectors found no misconduct.
