Hugo Zamora, formerly the coordinator for the pandemic-era overnight subway shutdowns, will oversee the agency's efforts to communicate with the public on construction and service updates.
The upgrade project includes replacing the G train's signaling system from the 1930s, 30 miles of track, and renovating stations along the route to address service disruptions.
