In a distressing incident in Brooklyn, police shot 49-year-old Longqian Chen, who allegedly attacked four girls with a meat cleaver. An 11-year-old girl alerted authorities by calling 911 after her uncle had assaulted her and her cousins. When police arrived, they found Chen inside the apartment refusing to drop the weapon, leading to officers firing shots. All four girls suffered serious injuries but are expected to survive. Chen has no prior criminal record but is reported to have a history of mental illness.
At about 10:15 a.m., an 11-year-old girl called 911 from a Bensonhurst home to report that her uncle stabbed her and her siblings.
Officers kicked down the apartment door to find 49-year-old Longqian Chen allegedly holding a large meat cleaver covered in blood.
Chen allegedly refused their orders to drop the meat cleaver... He then allegedly moved toward the two officers before they fired seven shots.
Investigators also found a second bloody knife inside the home on 84th Street and 17th Avenue.
