Nearly half of employed workers report remaining in roles longer than they might otherwise, and three-quarters expect to stay at least two more years. Job security has become an emotional safety net and a form of loyalty grounded in survival rather than satisfaction. Rapid deployment of AI tools threatens to change or eliminate many computer-related tasks. Remaining static in a role without upskilling risks future job obsolescence and reduced career prospects.
