Santa Cruz police responded to reports of an attempted break-in near Coulson Avenue and found the suspect had fled after being chased away by a resident. Officers established a perimeter and deployed a drone to assist the search. The drone used thermal sensing technology to detect body heat and locate the suspect. Officers discovered the suspect hiding under a tarp along the side of a home and arrested the suspect at the scene.
