Author Correction: Seasonal advance of intense tropical cyclones in a warming climate
Briefly

The author correction addresses a methodological error in analyzing intense tropical cyclone (TC) occurrences. The incorrect calculation led to an underestimation of the days between TC occurrence dates and the start of the TC season in the Southern Hemisphere. Additionally, leap years were not accounted for, and four intense TCs were mistakenly omitted from the analysis. The corrections slightly affect the estimated earlier-shifting trend of TCs, but not the overarching conclusions. Researchers express gratitude to peers who highlighted these errors and assert their commitment to data accuracy.
In our trend analysis of intense tropical cyclone occurrences, we mistakenly calculated the number of days for the Southern Hemisphere's hurricane season starting from January instead of July.
We have since recalculated the trend of intense TC occurrences and adjusted the results in the article accordingly, ensuring accuracy and transparency in our findings.
