ART Residence occupies a coastal plot in Paraty, Rio de Janeiro, with direct access to the sea and a discreet presence among existing vegetation. The house is visually understated at first glance, protected by several original and preserved trees on the land. A rigorous orthogonal facade contrasts with and is softened by the tortuous, organic movements of surrounding nature, creating a sense of dematerialization. Design leadership is by Fernando Guerra | FG+SG supported by a 26-person design team, with dedicated interior, landscape (Burle Marx) and lighting (Studio Iluz) contributions.
