The Beaufort tower, designed for the Kerckebosch neighborhood in Zeist, features 19 spacious apartments that provide panoramic forest views. Inspired by the surrounding green landscape and sandy soil, the design incorporates themes of 'sand', 'tree trunk', and 'leaf', resulting in an irregular stack of balconies and parapets that harmonizes with its environment. The project enhances accessibility with a gently sloping path to an inviting entrance that opens into a double-height hall. Structurally, the tower balances a sculptural form with a rational framework, offering a striking landmark while ensuring functional integrity.
The design of Beaufort emerges from the natural landscape of its forest surroundings, integrating the themes of 'sand', 'tree trunk', and 'leaf' into its structure.
Accessible via a gently sloping forest path, the inviting entrance features an inward-folding facade, leading visitors into a stunning double-height hall.
Beaufort stands as a landmark upon entry into the Kerckebosch neighborhood, seamlessly combining a natural aesthetic with functional architecture across its 10 scenic floors.
While the building's sculptural appearance captivates, it rests on a rational grid with a firm supporting structure, including a core and strategically placed columns.
