Architects Blok and Vokes & Peters collaborated to create three modular beach houses for sisters with childhood memories of the site. Each house is designed to ensure equality and harmony, featuring a central sky garden that brings in light and greenery. The design emphasizes a balance of communal and private spaces, presenting a cohesive two-storey structure instead of typical multi-storey units. The use of light blue and white colors reflects the local context and nods to the historical beach shacks, while the layout seamlessly connects living spaces with the surrounding natural landscape.
The collaboration between Blok and Vokes & Peters has resulted in three modular beach houses designed for three sisters, balancing privacy and communal living.
Each house features a central garden, enhancing the elongated floor plan with natural light and greenery, creating a harmonious living environment.
The project is designed as a single two-storey dwelling rather than typical multi-storey units, maintaining modest beach house character while providing depth and transparency.
The architectural design includes a colour shift and recessions that articulate the building's form, inviting a seamless connection with the dunes and natural landscape.
