HARQUITECTES demonstrates adaptive reuse with 'vapor cortes' complex in spain
Briefly

HARQUITECTES' Rehabilitation of Vapor Cortès leverages the historical layers of a former industrial site, fostering interaction between Prodis Foundation and the surrounding community while adapting to contemporary needs.
The transformation includes recovering the original service street, turned into a public passage, to enhance circulation and connectivity between Prodis users and the urban environment.
Central to the design is the preservation of the industrial character, with selective demolition allowing natural light, airflow, and an open-air atmosphere emphasizing the building's historical identity.
This adaptive reuse project successfully retains the essence of historical structures while meeting modern requirements, showcasing innovative interventions that respect and revitalize the architectural heritage of the site.
