Horli Baking / True Thing Design Studio
Briefly

Located in the historic Hamasen Train Depot, Houli creatively utilizes two diesel railcars, DR2909 and DR2955. The design concept draws inspiration from the motion of trains, manifesting in modular display units that shift and transform. The showcases are intended to embody fluidity, resembling the natural form of dough. Transparent columns exhibit raw wheat, reinforcing the theme of time’s passage in a structure that fuses historical essence with contemporary design, illustrating the coexistence of past and present.
Our concept is rooted in movement and slicing, inspired by the train's journey along its tracks.
The diesel railcars DR2909 and DR2955 serve as both a vessel of history and a canvas for our design intervention.
Rising in layered progression from the ground, these elements symbolize the passage of time.
These flexible structures give the bread showcases an organic, ever-changing form—reminiscent of dough's irregular edges after kneading.
